QR codes

Does the size of my QR code make a difference?

The size of your QR Code is very important. You should not overlook this part when creating your QR Code.

The dimensions of your QR Code have to be large enough for the scanner to recognise and decode. Keep in mind that not all smartphones could easily detect QR Codes. Older mobile devices would have a hard time reading your QR Code as opposed to the latest models.

As the characters and information that you store in the QR Code increase, so does the number of squares it contains. A standard size QR Code with 25 by 25 square will be able to store a normal web URL. Your QR Code can be small, but you will have to make sure that it does not contain a lot of data or have some sort of customization. It is not advisable to have a logo on a small QR Code.

Your QR Code should have a larger white space around it. This will help make it easier to scan the QR Code. Your QR Code should have a clear space around it so that it will be easier to scan.

The other factor to keep in mind is the scanning distance. The further away the QR Code is from the camera, the smaller it will appear. For instance, if you were to put a QR Code on the side of a building, it should be larger so that it can be scanned from a distance.
